Giving birth in a Pandemic
Are you expecting? Apprehensive about giving birth in a pandemic. As most of us are now self-isolating at home, I was thinking about those who are expecting a baby over the coming months and the uncertainty. It could be that your having a hospital birth or a midwife visiting for a home birth. Things that we take for granted as the norm but now we have to think differently. Packing you hospital bag, getting ready for the impending arrival of your little one – It’s the excitement, planning your birth plan, even though it will probably go out of the window,
Last week I was talking to a friend who is expecting in the next few weeks. Her concerns were very real, whilst we all are to stay at home, what happens when you have to go into hospital when the birth is imminent. Jess talked me through all the advice her midwife was telling her – could her partner go to the hospital or could he even be there at the birth. Giving birth is one of those magical moments and terrifying at the same time, especially for your first baby. It’s a time when you want your loved ones around you, supporting you.
Are you expecting ? How are you feeling? I found this really good page on Netmums, with lots of advice and helpful tips.
