I’m Heather, the photographer behind the award-winning Heather Elliott Photography based in Bradford . I’m easily reached from Leeds, Bradford, Halifax and Wakefieldand surrounding areas of North/West/South Yorkshire. I’m a trained, insured, experienced newborn photographer and also love to photograph maternity, children and families. I’ve been mentored by some of the country’s top newborn photographers and I’ve worked very hard to be among the best in my field.
The choice to specialise in newborn photography was easy
I started to specialise in photographing newborn babies and children about 15 years ago. Having taken family photos through out my children growing up and taking arty holiday landscape snaps, I found my calling when I went on a newborn photography course, from then on I knew I wanted to specialise.
They are only small for such a short period of time and very soon you will forget how small they were. Button noses, peachy fluff on their little ears, tiny toes, and fingers. Such a precious time, never to be repeated. This may even be the first time you have actually sat for a few hours with nothing to do since your one little arrived. All too soon, they will be up and running around and venturing into the big wide world around them.
So why chose me to take your precious photographs?
I have been taking newborn photos for nearly 15 years now. I am fully insured and regularly undertake Baby First Aid courses to keep myself up to date with training and safety, your little precious bundle is the most important thing for me to keep safe throughout our sessions.
My favourite way to record your little one’s first year is with my Bump to Birthday Photography. I want to capture all those precious memorable times for you and your family for generations to look at. We all have lots of photos on our phones, but the real value in a portrait is when it is displayed on your wall and enjoyed every day. Above all else, I want you to enjoy the experience of watching me work my magic with your little ones.

Alongside my decision to specialise in newborn photography, I chose to further develop my skills in creating truly beautiful maternity images.

We contacted Heather with a very last minute request to shoot our newborn (we didn’t think we wanted something professional but changed our mind), Heather went out of her way to accommodate us and as first time parents we felt so at ease that our baby was in good hands.
Newborn shoots are so relaxed with no time pressure, just commitment to getting the perfect photos. Heather was so good with our little boy and we spent time chatting when he needed to feed or rest.
This is all without mentioning the quality of her work, which is perfection.

Had a Christmas photoshoot done by Heather the past two years and loved the photos. This year my toddler wasn’t very cooperative but Heather and Santa Ste were both patient and took their time to make my son feel comfortable and making it a more enjoyable experience.

Heather did a cake smash photoshoot for our little girl for the second time. She made us feel at ease and was very flexible with times and dates. The set up was great, I asked for a personalised set up, provided all the bits and bobs and she set it up lovely. All of us had fun throughout. The quality of the pictures is amazing and the service is great. The pictures turned out amazing! And our toddler keeps saying she loves Heather and wants to see her again, she was so good with her it felt like she was family. We wouldn't have asked for a better day to celebrate our little one's second birthday. Thank you Heather.

I recently had a maternity photoshoot with Heather and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Right from the start, she was friendly, helpful, and clearly explained all the packages, which made the whole process really straightforward.
On the day of the shoot, Heather was warm, welcoming, and instantly made me feel at ease. I was quite nervous as I don’t usually feel very confident in front of the camera, but she guided me through everything—from how to pose to where to look—and was so patient and encouraging throughout. I left feeling confident and beautiful!
Heather worked quickly on creating our gallery and again talked us through what was included in our Gold package. The photos are absolutely beautiful and such a special way to remember our pregnancy.
With the package we chose, we also get money off a newborn shoot—which we’re really looking forward to. We’ll definitely be coming back to Heather to capture all the special moments with our little girl in the future.
If you’re considering booking a maternity shoot, I honestly urge you to go for it. If you're in the Leeds or Bradford area, I would absolutely recommend Heather—you won’t be disappointed!
