For newborn photography in Leeds|Bradford|Wakefield|Huddersfild and Halifax

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PHOTOGRAPH MY BABY?  

The best time to photograph newborns is between 7 and 14 days. You will need to book in your session well in advance, so give me a call as soon as you know your due date. I will make a provisional booking for a 4 week window from your due date then we can accommodate an early or late arrival. Most newborn session take upto 4 hours,  I usually starts a session at 10.30am. I only  ever book in one newborn session a day, so there is no rushing your session.  

DO YOU WORK ON WEEKENDS?  

Yes, but  I only ever takes one booking per weekend, so I can spend some time with my family. So don’t leave it too late to book.   

WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO BASED?

The Studio is situated at Woodroyd Studios, Woodroyd Mills on South Parade, Cleckheaton, BD19 3AF.  Entrance to the studio is via two steps. You will find us opposite Tumbles Play gym. The Studio is based in an old mill and we have use of the whole of the first floor. You will be surprised when you walk in it’s like a Dr Who’s Tardis.  There is parking in a dan round the mill complex.  please ignore the staff only parking signs they are there are a deterrent and we are allowed one car extra as visitors.

HOW LONG WILL A SESSION LAST? 

Usually around 3-4 hours. It sounds a long time but I will take my time with your baby and work at their pace.  This covers feeds, changes of clothes and props, getting your little one into a deep sleep. You will be surprised how quickly it goes.

DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE PHOTOGRAPHING NEWBORN BABIES SAFELY?  

I’ve been photographing newborn babies for over nine years and has been trained by one of the Country’s top baby photographers on to handle and pose them safely. I have also undertaken several baby first aid courses and puts the comfort and safety of your baby first. I’m fully insured with Professional Photography Insurance Company, Policy Bee, which includes Public Liability cover for all my work.

WILL FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY HARM MY BABY?  

Absolutely not, I have never witnessed a baby react to the flash, asleep or awake. The light that is emitted from the Studio equipment is no brighter than that which comes through your window at home on a bright overcast day.  

DO I NEED TO BRING ANY PROPS OR ACCESSORIES TO MY NEWBORN SESSION?  

There is no need to as we have an Aladdin’s cave of beautiful props and accessories. However, if you have something special that you would like us to include in your pictures, please feel free to bring it along.
We have a selection of outfits, fabrics and accessories that we can use to style your session. Once you have booked your session we will send you a guide on what to bring to your session.   

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR MY FAMILY AND OTHER CHILDREN TO BE INCLUDED IN THE SESSION? 

Of course! Having a new baby is an exciting time for everyone in the family and we would love to document that for you. For extended family members please bear in mind that our studio is nice and cosy and we limit our sessions to 6. Please let me know in advance of your session if you would like family pictures.  

DO WE GET TO SEE ALL THE PICTURES YOU TAKE? 

No, unfortunately, the process I use is to take several similar images of the one pose and the editing process she will cull the ones she feels are not the best.  Your complete gallery will be around 20 -25 images. 

HOW LONG AFTER THE SESSION CAN WE SEE OUR PICTURES?  

Galleries are usually ready to view within two weeks of your session. The private viewing will be held at the studio in our reception room.  At your viewing,  you will see a slideshow of your full gallery along with printed copies of the images.  You will be able to leave with your images on the day. 

CAN I BUY JUST THE DIGITAL FILES?  

All of our collections include both the printed and digital copies of the photographs you choose in your collection. The digital files cannot be bought separately. We believe that the professional pictures that we are going to create for you deserve to be displayed using only the best quality professional products. Printed photographs are the only sure way to archive our beautiful memories.   

IS THERE A MINIMUM SPEND?  

The Minimum package currently is £299 for newborns, there is no hard sell from me,  you are welcome to spend whatever you have as a budget. If you don’t like your images your booking fee MINUS £50, for the session, will be refunded back to you.  

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY DEPOSIT?  

This is deducted from the package you purchase.  The booking fee is 50% of the lowest package available and the deposit can be used against any of the packages.  Change of dates requires 24 hours notice.
